Late Iron Age - Roman copper alloy centre-looped cosmetic mortar of Jackson's (2010) Type E dating to the period c. 50 BC - AD 200.

It exhibits a crescent-shaped bow with plain, convex walls. Running along the inner and outer edge of the rim is a line of punched dots, now partially obscured by wear. The terminals are in the form of devolved, zoomorphic heads, probably bovids. One terminal is bulbous, with a tapered face and a flared, flat ended muzzle. The other exhibits traces of two rounded mouldings at the top, possibly vestigial horns or ears and tapers into a rounded muzzle. Each terminal is joined to the centre loop by an indented openwork strut.
