An Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver sceat (proto-penny), dating to AD 680-710. Obverse depicting diademed head right in serpent circle; obverse legend illegible. The reverse has a serpent circle (starting at 7 'o clock) enclosing a bird facing right on latin cross with an annulet at the end of both short arms of the cross; a probably greek cross in the left field before the bird; reverse legend reads [...]VAA three annulets (unbarred A). Unknown mint. Cf. Abramson( 1994, p. 66, no. B400), serie BII, type 27b.
