A roman silver denarius (RIC 93, RSC 647) of the emperor Septimius Severus (AD 193-211) with a strong presence of copper in the core. Both sides of the coin are deeply pitted.

Obverse:- Laureate head of Septimius Severus right, legend around '[L SEPT SEV PERT AVG] IMP VIII'

Reverse:- Securitas seated left, draped, holding globe in dexter hand. Legend '[SECVRITAS] PVBLIC[A]'
