A complete cast copper-alloy key dating to the Medieval period, c. 1150-1400. It demonstrates a circular bow with an off-centre aperture broadly at its midpoint, thinning as it transitions into the circular-sectioned hollow shank. At the end of the key the rectangular bit extends from its underside, on the front edge of which a small cleft is visible. Preserved in fair condition with an even green patina, it measures 34.73mm in length, 11.72mm in diameter at the widest point of the bow, and 3.91mm thick at the midpoint of the shank. It weighs 4.1g.
A very similar key has been recorded on the PAS database as BUC-22FA67.
