Copper-alloy finger ring of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1700 - 1900.

The ring is formed from a thin copper-alloy band of uneven width. It is rectangular in section. The ring would have been circular but it has been bent out of shape during its time in the ground.

The outer surface of the ring is decorated with linear grooves, pairs of which cover the width of the band. Both surfaces are greatly obscured by corrosion, resulting in a patchy dark green patina.

The ring is 21.08mm in length, 2.64mm in width and 0.94mm in thickness. It weighs 0.52g.

This finger ring is of a type common in the late Post-Medieval period which are made of thin and fragile strips of copper-alloy, often with floral and foliate style decoration.
