Unique ID: HAMP-A5956D

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval double-loop rectangular buckle frame, missing its pin. Whitehead (1996, 75) suggests a date of 1570-1700. The outside edges of the frame are triangular in cross-section, with an angled outside edge, while the central bar is rectangular in cross-section. The object measures 33.8mm in length, 25.9mm wide, 2.9mm in max.thickness and weighs 5.71g. The internal measurements of the loops are c.12x20mm. There is a transverse notch for the pin on one outside edge, otherwise there is no discernible decoration on either side.
