A copper alloy Post Medieval buckle dating from abpout AD 1550 - 1750. It is a single looped rectangular buckle, wide across the strap, but short from pin bar to pin rest. The outer edge and sides are expended into a wide rectangular field decorated with a mass of wide grooves forming chevrons and triangles. There are two pin rests on the outer edge; they are deep grooves flanked by ridges. The bar is rounded. The pins are missing. The inner edge fo the frame is champfered on the reverse. It is 21mm long, 46.2mm wide and 3mm thick. It weighs 8.62gm. An identical example is LEIC-D46FB1.
