An Iron Age copper-alloy coin, core of a plated gold stater of the North Eastern Region / Corieltavi, dating to the period c.AD 25-35, copy of a 'Dumnocoveros Tigirsneo' type. Obverse: [D]V-M[N], vertical wreath with inscription either side between plain lines, pellet or spiral rings in each quadrant. Reverse: Lunate horse left, unclear motifs or legends above and below. The coin has a brown patina. This is a core of a plated stater probably copying a stater of Dumnocoveros Tigirsneo type, cf.ABC p. 101, no. 1971; BMC nos. pl. 107, 3325-3327. The coin is 16.3mm diameter, 2.5mm thick and 1.96g.
