A Roman nummus, or contemporary copy, of the Constantine I 'Constantinopolis' type. ( AD 330-340). The edge of the coin on both sides appears to have corroded and broken away, leaving little of the legend intact.
Obverse:- Helmeted head of the city personified, facing left. Legend around 'CONSTAN[TINOPOLIS]'
Reverse:- A winged figure of victory standing on a boat prow, with body towards the viewer and head to the left, holding a scepter in dexter hand and sinister resting on barely visible shield. Any legend that was present in the exergue is now missing.
