A flint scraper of probable Later Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date, probably dating to c. 3000-1600 BC. Worked from a secondary flake of grey/brown flint, with a small amount of cortex (covering c. <5%) surviving at the proximal left side of the dorsal face. The proximal end appears to have been damaged, although the point of percussion itself is still present, with a relatively diffuse bulb of percussion. Long, semi-abrupt, sub-parallel retouch is exhibited along the distal end of the dorsal face.
Dimensions: length 16.5mm; width 21.2mm; thickness 5.5mm; weight: 2.31g.
Part of a small assemblage found in the same field, comprising of DEV-103335, DEV-0FEEDB, DEV-0F0748, DEV-1067AB, DEV-0EB764, DEV-0F8EAE. The relatively crude knapping, limited retouch and use of multiple platforms would all suggest a probable date in the Later Neolithic or Early Bronze Age.
