An incomplete medieval sheet metal copper-alloy recessed Pendant suspension mount or buckle plate, dating to the period AD 1150-1350. .

The plate measures 13.93mm in length and 15.55mm in width and would have been fastened to buckle loop by being folded around the strap bar. 4.81mm thick.

The two parts of the plate are kept together by two rivets. The plate on the back is slightly shorter and more narrow than the one on the front being 10.38mm long and 11.06mm in width.

A number of buckle plates similar to this object are frequently recorded dating to the period c.1250-1450, however a very similar group of recessed plates are linked to armorial horse furniture from the 12th century (Ashley 2002, 6)
