A complete, damaged and squashed post-Medieval silver closed thimble (c. 1750-c. 1900).
This thimble has sides sloping towards the domed crown. The upper half has horizontal lines of sub-circular indentations or pits. The crown has concentric rings of similar but smaller pits. The lower half has meandering lines of punched marks forming decoration. The rim is plain.
