A complete Medieval copper-alloy pin, probably for an annular buckle (c. 1250-c. 1450).
The shaft is rectangular in cross-section and tapers to a point. The end of the open loop almost makes contact with the underside of the shaft.
This pin is green with patches of a slightly darker green patina.
Length: 33.1mm; width at loop: 5.0mm; thickness of shaft: 1.3mm; thickness including loop: 7.7mm. Weight: 1.66g.
Annular buckles with similar pins have been published (Whitehead 2003: 17).
