A complete copper alloy strap fitting or belt mount dating to the post medieval period (AD 1500-1700). The mount is formed of a central oval panel with a half circle panel projecting from a narrow neck from either side. The oval is decorated with three grooves running down the centre of the panel. The two half circles have lines radiating out from the narrow neck between the two panels. On the reverse are two integral spiked lugs for attachment, these are bent in at ninety degrees into the centre of the mount, and narrow towards the point. The mount measures 24.5mm in length, 13.6mm in width, and 15.1mm in thickness. It weighs 4.15g.
