A copper alloy circular heraldic seal matrix (13th century). The reverse is flat (thickness: 2.16mm) with a pierced lug (thickness: 6.68mm). The central motif is of a lion rampant (a lion raised up on its hindquarters facing right). The inscription is in Lombardic script and reads: +S'GALFRIDI D'MARCHAM. Seal of Geoffrey of Marcham. Even deep green patina. Diameter: 22.30mm; weight: 5.90g.
