Copper alloy clasp. Folding clasp. Cast trapezoid frame retaining a rectangular sheet metal closure of thickness 0.4mm which is apparently looped around a separate bar with ends of diameter 1.9mm whose ends are flush with the sides of the frame. The outer edge of the sheet metal plate bears a finely incised arc of rocker-work decoration. A rivet of diameter 1.4mm and length c.2.2mm passes through both ends of a separate plate, presumably serving to attach it to a strap like a buckle plate. The clasp is now folded back against the plate. Suggested date: Medieval, 1300-1450.
