The brooch is incomplete and all that remains is the lower section of the bow including the catchplate. The top of the remains of the bow is straight-sided and the sides gradually narrow towards the foot. The top section is decorated with two longitudinal grooves each decorated wth diagonal incisions in two directions creating a zigzag pattern. The bow is stepped in below the decorated section and continues with an undecorated, slightly convex, straight-sided section which gradually narrows towards the foot. The foot is broad and there is a small section which protrudes forward with a flat base. The solid catchplate sweeps back from the lower section of the bow.
