An incomplete, worn and possibly clipped post-Medieval silver threepence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), minted at London. Initial marks: eglantine/eglantine, dated 1574 or 1575 on coin (North 1991: 135, ref: 1998).

There appears to be a 5 over the 4 in the date!

Obverse: ELIZ[ABETH D G ANG FR] ET.HI.REGINA; Crowned bust left with a rose behind the head.

Reverse: POSVI/DEV AD/[IVTORE/M MEV] (I have made God my Helper); Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription with date of 1574 or 1575 above shield.

Diameter: 18.9mm. Weight: 1.15g. DA=12:7.
