A fragment of a copper alloy vessel dating to the Medieval to Post Medieval period (c. AD 1000-1700). The fragment is part of the leg of a cooking vessel such as a small cauldron. The pot leg is sub-triangular in cross-section, with a slightly concave inner surface. The leg is rounded and flares into a hoof-like foot with three toes. The base of the foot is flat.

The metal is very uneven and dark to mid-green in colour, with patches of light grey. As stated by Hitchen (2018) copper alloy vessels were commonly used for cooking during the Medieval to Post Medival period, from which point they were gradually phased out in favour of cast-iron pots and saucepans designed for kitchen ranges. As such it is difficult to closely date this object without any further archaeological context.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 21.02 mm long, 18.38 mm wide,13.45 mm thick and 9.15g in weight.
