Pottery. Swanpool Mortarium (MOSP), with black grits on its inner surface, with a grey-brown reduced fabric with orange oxidised margins and with a white slip inside and out; rim sherd with projecting flange from a mortarium of estimated rim diameter 260mm. This sherd was kindly identified by Wallace Collyer and Sandra Firth of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group. Suggested date: Late Roman, 275-400.
