A copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) small-long brooch fragment. The fragmentary head comprises a central rectangular plate with three sides extended in three flat semi-circular knops. The fourth side has an old break, probably where the broad bow, now missing, once joined the rectangular headplate. The knop on the opposite side of the break is pitted and very worn. The front is decorated with a pair of incised lines across the junction of each knop with the headplate. Both faces are badly pitted and have scratches. The reverse still has the vertical single lug, encrusted with fragment of the corroded iron pin.

It belongs to Penn and Brugmann's phase FA1 (2007, p. 70, fig. 5.21) dated to AD 450-480. For a similar example see SF- DB378A in PAS database.
