A base sherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel in a fabric similar to Black Burnished Ware. This Romano-British pottery type typically dates from 1st to 4th Centuries AD (100-400 AD). Two pierced holes are present in the base, and the partial remains of three holes are located around the edge of the sherd. These perforations indicate that this sherd originally came from a strainer type form.

The sherd is 5.88mm thick and weighs 4.79 grams.
