A copper-alloy Medieval horse harness pendant with suspension mount. The pendant is shield-shaped with an extending loop on the top edge, which is set at right angle to the shield. The decoration of the front face of the shield bears an engraved crane or swan facing left; the engraving has remains of coloured enamel. The mount has a rounded upper edge while the lower edge has two holed lugs, which allow the attachment of the pendant through an iron rivet threaded in the suspension loop. The back of the mount has an integral sub-square cross-sectioned integral rivet. Traces of gilding are present all over the surfaces of the object. The lower half of the shield is slightly bent forward.
It dates to AD 1200-1400. For example of the suspension mount see Ashley (2002, p. 12, fig. 12, no. 84)
