A complete copper-alloy hooked tag dating to the seventh to twelfth century AD. The hooked tag possesses a flat circular attachment plate. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with five stamped ring and dot motifs, with four surrounding a central one. The two upper ring and dot motifs are perforated. The underside of the plate is plain. At the other end, the plate extends to a small, rectagular-section hook, which tapers to a point. The hooked tag measures 20mm in length and a maximum of 14mm in width.
The tag belongs to Read (2008) Class A, Type 2, to which he assigned a broad c.7th to c.early 12th century date.
