An incomplete copper-alloy sword pommel of medieval date, c.AD 1350 - 1550. The pommel fragment has four slopping facets remaining to the upper aspect, presumably having had eight initially, with a flattened median band. The remains of three further slopping facets are present below the band. Each facet is decorated with a shallowly incised double banded lozenge with central X. The reverse surface is irregular and encrusted with iron corrosion.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The pommel is 35mm long, 46.3mm wide, 2.9mm thick and weighs 41.9g.
