Copper alloy metalworking debris. A fragment of solifdified casting spillage which has set on a flat and probably sanded surface. A part of the material has a pale purple grey tint, the rest is green. Part of an extensive spread of similar objects which point to a discrete episode of metalworking in the vicinity; the clear evidence for sanded surfaces here may suggest a deliberately formed casting bed was in use. Suggested date: Unknown, Later Bronze Age to Post-Medieval, 1000BC-AD1800.
