Lead weight. Cast weight approaching a rhomboid form, of plano-convex section, with a central moulded hole of diameter 4.6mm. The convex surface is rough or textured. Patinated. The mass does not closely correspond to units observing any particular system, while the form is also unusual. There are no marks to indicate the intended function of the hole, which is a little small to admit a spindle. Suggested date: unknown, Roman to Medieval, 43-1500.
