A complete Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy one-piece button dating to the period c.1500-1600 consisting of both head and shank. The head is discoidal and convex at the front and flat at the back. It has a central boss surmounted by a pellet within a multifoiled design. A rectangular section divides the head from the shank. The shank is broadly triangular, wider than the section intially before tapering into a point. It contains a central loop.

Length of object: 17mm; Width of head: 14.3mm; Length of shank: 7.9mm; width of shank: 7mm. Length of head: 6.4; Weight: 3.47g

A button with similar decoration has been published and dated c.16th century (Read 2005: 37, ref: 123).
