A Medieval silver coin; a round halfpenny of Edward I (AD 1272 - 1307), Class 3e dating from AD 1280 - 1282, minted at Newcastle upon Tyne. See North (1991) Volume 2, page 33, number 1045/2; and Withers 2001, page 55, Type 1. The coin is 14.2mm diameter, 0.5mm thick and 0.58g.
