Copper alloy strap fitting (belt mount) dating of probably post-medieval date (c.1500-1700AD).The object has openwork in the form of two perforations, a diamond/oval shape above a heart-shape. Above this open work is a single lobe projection. Below the openwork is tri-lobbed projection, the two side lobes of which have a circular depression at the centre. The reverse is plain with the remnants of two projection spikes. The object has a pale green patina but appears to have traces of some form of coating. For an almost identical example see HESH-084CCB on the PAS database.
