A silver post medieval sixpence of Elizabeth I, probably dating to AD 1572. Reverse depicting a square shield on a long cross fourchée dividing the legend, with the date on top. Mint of London. Probably ermine initial mark. North vol.II p.134 no.1997. Appears to be counterstamped at 2 o'clock on the obverse.
This has been noted as an interesting find by the recorder.
