Two adjoining body sherds of Roman greyware from an open vessel. The sherds are a medium fired silty fabric, pale grey with abundent very find sand temper and occaisonal angular quartz inclusions, mostly under 1mm although some up to 2.4mm, not visibly micaceous. The vessel form is unclear although there is a distinct step in the profile visible on the inner and outer face with a rouletted band of alternating large and small rectangles defined by indented lines just above the step. 22.20 grams.
The fabric appears different to the Savernake - type greywares also found on the site. Possibly a reduced version of Severn Valley ware dating to the 2nd to 4th centuries
