A copper-alloy Roman coin possibly a sestertius of Trajan (AD 98-117), dating to the period c.AD 114-117 (Reece period 5). Possibly REX PARTHIS DATVS, S C reverse type depicting Trajan seated facing left on platform on right with a prefect, placing a diadem on the head of King Parthamaspates who stands below beside the platform. Parthia kneels to the left in supplication. Mint of Rome.

Notes:
In AD 116, Trajan advanced from northern Mesopotamia down the Tigris to Babylon. He captured the Parthian capital at Ctesiphon and by mid-summer Parthia was effectively conquered. Trajan assumed the title Parthicus.
