Copper alloy thimble. Pressed metal sewing rim or thimble, whether originally domed or open-topped is now uncertain. An everted bevelled foot ring has a wall above it bearing closely spaced machine stamped pits which appear as if rising in diagonal rows from right to left. The upper edge is broken and frayed. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
