An incomplete post medieval cast copper alloy one piece dress hook. with moulded relief and open work, dating to c AD1550 - 1650. It conforms to Read Class E Type 3. It is missing the backward facing hook. The centre plate, below a sub trapezoidal loop, shows an elaborate spiralling foliate design with two pellets. See Read Hooked Clasps and Eyes 2008 p103 no 400 for a very similar clasp.
It is 40.62mm in length, 19.42mm in width and weighs 3.49g.
