Incomplete Early Saxon copper alloy small-long brooch with a cross potent head-plate, damaged integral flat sectioned rectangular knops, vertical lines of double C-shaped stamps border the rectangular panel. Rectangular panels form facets at either end of the flattened D-sectioned bow, and are decorated with twin transverse lines and a transverse line of double C-shaped stamps. The footplate consists of a rectangular panel with a transverse line, above a faceted rectangular panel and a ribbed half round moulding (5 narrow ribs), below which the brooch is broken and the terminal missing. On the reverse of the head-plate is a single pin lug within the corroded remains of the iron spring, and a damaged catchplate. Head-plate (extant) 31 x 21mm. Extant length 58mm. Weighs 12.90g. c.480-530.
