MOUNT

Unique ID: KENT-419CE9

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A square mount of likely mid-late medieval date, c. AD 1200-1500.

Description: The mount is square and flat. The upper surface has a decorative in relief plain border and possible floral design presenting three toadstools? This would be an unusual design however and thus it is not certain. There is a pierced rivet hole through the centre which has slightly distorted it. The mount is heavily pitted and patinated a dark green with some lighter green mottling.

Measurements: 18.74mm x 19.28mm, 2.32mm and 3.32g in weight.
