A heavily worn and incomplete Early Post-Medieval eye from a hooked clasp dating to c.17th century.

Description: The eye is formed from a sub-pentagonal main plate, with a collared folliate terminal/attachment knop at the pointed end. at the opposite end is a rectangular eye for a blunt hook, majority of the eyeframe is broken and now missing. The entire object is very worn and relief decoration just visible on the upper face is that of flower with four long petals and intermediate petals between them. There is three piercings for its attachment one at the atachment terminal and two flank the rectangular eye.

Measurements: 31.49mm long, 20.35mm wide, 1.79mm thick and 4.23g in weight.
