Copper-alloy cast buckle of Medieval to Post-Medieval date, c. 1350-1550.
The buckle has a notched front with a transverse groove. There are flanged sides which are drilled in order to hold the centre bar. The pin is cast and connected to a tube which is hinged over the centre bar.
The centre bar extends beyond the frame on one side, curving up and then back toward the frame. It is likely that this bar ended in a spherical knop, though this no longer survives.
The buckle is rectangular in shape. The patina is a dark green to light beige colour, and the buckle is complete with the exception of the possible decorative knop.
