Post Medieval copper alloy buckle, 43mm in length, 22mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 4.01grams.
The object is sub rectangular in form and cross section and consists of a double loop with slight pointed projections at each outer side and sub rectangular knops at each end. These have a double incised line acroos them with deep gilding in the recesses. The central pin bar has slight projections and there are faint traces of gilding over the surface. The buckle is similar to fig 373, p. 62 in Whiteheads Buckles.
