A copper-alloy nail cleaner of moulded neck and shouldered blade (Group) dating to the Roman period. The nail cleaner possesses a flat, circular head with a circular perforation which is positioned off-centre. The head extends to an oval-section stem which is horizontally ribbed with a series of beaded mouldings. The stem flattens to form a flat, leaf-shaped blade with a phallic terminal. On both the upper and lower surfaces, the blade has an incised groove accentuating the phallic nature of the terminal. The nail cleaner measures 45mm in length, a maximum of 6mm in width and 3mm in thickness.
