Fragment of a copper alloy post medieval sugar tongs, dating 1700-1800AD. The sugar tongs are broken along the stem of the tongs, so that only the far end of one tong remains. The sugar tong stem is plain and narrow until just under the grip. Here there is a horizontal bar that precedes the decoration. Meanwhile the grip itself is a decorated semi circle resembling a scallop shell. There is some corrosion present on the back of the grip.
