Fragment of a medieval gilt copper alloy oval buckle frame: just under half of a broad angled openwork outside edge with one wyvern from a pair of confronted beasts, employed in a proto-heraldic manner, sides and offset bar missing. Extant length 22mm. Extant width 20mm. Cf. Ashley (2016), fig. 18.7, no. 42. Late 12th-mid 13th century.
