Copper alloy possible strap end. Cast elongated plate of plano-concavo section, broken at one or possibly both ends. Either closely-spaced transverse grooves or chatter marks appear along the ridge of the display face towards one end. This might be the remnant of a simple strap end of Thomas Class A, or a similar object of later date, as might be expected to bear either simpler or devolved decoration, albeit almost entirely lost to wear. This interpretation presupposes the loss of the means of attachment as well as, possibly, a decorated terminal. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 750-1100.
