An incomplete copper alloy single loop buckle with a separately applied folded sheet metal plate. The rectangular buckle frame has a sheet metal roller on the outer edge. The short sides of the frame are slightly out-curved and rectangular in cross section. The bar at the rear is recessed to accomodate the sheet metal plate. The plate is folded over the bar and tapers slightly to the opposite end where there are two circular rivet holes (one complete and one broken). The front part of the plate is slightly wider then the rear half. Behind the bar, there is a hole through both halves of the plate for the attachment of the missing pin. The pin may have been iron as there are traces of iron corrision product on the plate around the hole and also on the roller on the outer edge.
