An incomplete Post-Medieval cast copper alloy mount, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The mount is inverted-piriform in plan, truncated at its base and with a knop projecting from the apex. The mount features anthropomorphic decoration, depciting a bust or en face mask situated within a raised border, with a pair of opposed volutes at the apex, below the knop. A trilobed terminal at the base has been lost to an abraded and patinated break. The reverse is slightly concave, with the remains of two integral prongs. Traces of gilding survive on the front of the mount.
