Incomplete Late Saxon sheet gold finger ring. Consisting of a flat pointed oval bezel with a jagged transverse break at either end. Punched decoration over all the surviving surface comprises series of punched annulets. The underside is undecorated. Both faces are heavily scratched.

Dimensions: Length: 19mm, maximum width: 12mm, minimum width: 4.2mm, thickness: 1mm, weight: 1.2g.

Date: c. AD 851 - 1000.

Finger rings of this form are typical of the Middle Viking period (Graham-Campbell 1980, 61, cat. no. 219). Examples from Norfolk include Thetford (Goodall, A. R. in Rogerson and Dallas 1984, fig. 110 no. 12) and Beachamwell, Norfolk (Ager, B. in Treasure Annual Report 2004, 67-8, no. 86). A number of similar examples in gold or silver have been reported as Treasure and are recorded on the PAS database, including: NMS-B61D01 (2016 T426) & NMS-DA944C (2017 T1069).
