Possibly a post medieval copper alloy mount or suspension point. Both faces retain remains of a corroded iron attachment. In plan it resembles a short broad arrow. The 'point' of the arrow has a tri-lobed perforation and the 'shaft' is where the iron corrosion is. One face is undecorated. The decoration on the other face consists of a flattened edge which is plain on the sides of the 'shaft' and toothed or crenelated on the bottom edge and on the sides of the 'point'. Date uncertain but the style and method of construction are suggestive of the gothic revival of the late eighteenth century. Its function is also uncertain but it may an elaborate handle attachment, possibly for something like a fire or coal bucket. Probably dates to between c1740 and c1900 AD. The length is 30mm, the width is 19mm and the weight 4.70g.
