Copper alloy dagger quillon that consists of an oval shaped central block that has a rectangular pierced hole running through the centre, for the tang.
Projecting from either side of the block are upwardly angled sub-globular arms with a concave depression on the top inside edge to accommodate the sides of the blade. Decorating the outside edge of each arm is a series of recessed vertical lines.
This is most likely a kidney type dagger that was common in the 15th and 16th century.
