A fragmentary copper-alloy fitting, possibly a box mount dating to the Roman period. The object comprises a strip of copper-alloy which is slightly convex in section. At one end the strip is decorated by three vertical incisions. The strip possesses two circular rivet holes before tapering slightly and terminating in a break. Where the strip is broken, the strip appears to be bent at right angles. Compare with bone box mounts from Colchester (Crummy 1983, 82-83 and Fig. 87).
